Bolitas de palomitas de maíz

  • 2/3 taza de maíz para palomitas
  • 1 barra de mantequilla
  • 1 taza de miel
  • 1/8 cucharadita de sal
  • 2 cucharaditas de vainilla
  • ¼ taza de semillas de girasol
  • ¼ taza de semillas de auyama
  • Palitos para paletas (opcional)

Preparación

  1. Precalentar el horno a 325ºF.
  2. Hacer las palomitas de maíz (dan unas 10 tazas).
  3. Colocar las palomitas ya hechas sobre papel encerado en una bandeja de hornear y esparcirle las semillas por arriba.
  4. Aparte, en una ollita de fondo grueso, a fuego medio alto, derretir la mantequilla.
  5. Agregar la miel y la sal, moviendo constantemente hasta que empiece a hervir.
  6. Retirar del fuego y adicionar la vainilla.
  7. Verter con cuidado sobre las palomitas de maíz y llevar al horno por unos 20 minutos, moviendo para mezclar bien cada 5 minutos.
  8. Dejar enfriar un poco y luego tomar porciones con cuchara sopera y formar las bolitas, apretándolas.
  9. Colocar las bolitas en molde para bizcochitos o en capacillos, y si se van a utilizar, insertarles un palito de paleta a cada una. Tip: Es bueno humedecerse las manos con agua de tomar para facilitar darle forma a las bolitas sin quemarse. Una vez hechas, pueden durar unas 2 semanas en contenedor plástico con tapa hermética.
