Ingredientes

  • 1 Lb. de ciruelas sin semilla
  • 1/2 Taza de agua
  • 3 Cdas. de azúcar parda
  • 1/4 Cdta. de sal
  • 3/4 De taza de nueces o almendras picaditas
  • 1 3/4 Tazas de avena
  • 1 1/2 Tazas de harina de trigo
  • 1 1/2 Barras de mantequilla
  • 1 1/2 Tazas de azúcar parda
  • 1/2 Cdta. de extracto de almendra o vainilla
  • 1 Cdta. de bicarbonato

Preparación

  1. Picar las ciruelas en trocitos y verter en una olla pequeña con el agua, el azúcar y la sal. Dejar que caliente hasta que rompa el hervor. Retirar del fuego y con ayuda de un tenedor o majador de plátanos, triturar hasta formar un puré. Reservar hasta que enfríe.
  2. Engrasar un molde rectangular con una cucharada de mantequilla. Reservar.
  3. Reservar también ¼ de taza de nueces.
  4. Combinar los ingredientes de la masa hasta que tengan una consistencia grumosa, unificar bien. Con las manos húmedas, colocar la mitad en el molde de la mezcla, luego las ciruelas con la ayuda de un tenedor. Cubrir con el resto de la mezcla de avena y presionar bien. Terminar con las nueces reservadas por encima. Llevar al horno precalentado a 350 °F por 40 minutos. Retirar del horno, dejar enfriar, cortar del tamaño deseado y servir.
